How Listings Work
Last updated: 15 Oct 2026
PeopleList is a directory of local businesses. Businesses add their own details, and our team reviews every listing before it goes live. This page explains what that review means, and what it does not mean.
How a business gets listed
- The business submits a free listing with its own details: services, area, contact numbers and photos.
- The business confirms it is real by sharing its Google Business Profile link, or by sending documents such as a shop photo or GST certificate on WhatsApp or email.
- Our team reviews the listing and removes anything that breaks our Listing Policy.
- The listing goes live. The owner gets a business login to keep it up to date. Every later change is reviewed again before it goes live.
What our review means
- We look for signs that the business is genuine and that the listing follows our rules.
- Our review is not a guarantee, certificate, recommendation or endorsement of any business.
- All details on a listing, such as services, prices, experience, photos and working hours, are provided by the business, and the business is responsible for them.
- Licences and registrations can change. If a business mentions a GST, RERA, ICAI or other number, please check it yourself on the official website.
Premium and Sponsored
Businesses can pay for more visibility. A Premium label means the business is on a paid plan, which places it higher in lists. A Sponsored label marks a paid advertisement. Neither is a recommendation, and paying never removes reviews.
Before you hire anyone
Get a written quote, ask for a proper invoice, check registrations yourself, and never pay the full amount in advance.
